Ouch. I've blown some expensive kit before, and it always stings. :(
@zetasyanthis this was on a project for work so it's not our money but still that's just. Bleh.
I hate how expensive these are and i wish we could find something that works just as well for not as much money

Oh, whether it's personal or work stuff, it still stings. Sometimes literally if you blow a part badly enough. XD
@zetasyanthis No, it was a different part entirely--one that survived--that we burned our finger on today.

Mmm. You're reminding me of good times, if occasionally painful ones. We used to have a big honking linear power supply we called the "Tracebreaker" for when an intern's board had a short to ground and they couldn't figure out why. :)
@zetasyanthis We get to use a 2000 V, 2 A power supply at work. It's a pretty scary thing to work with.

Oh yeah, definitely. I... don't know how it happened, but even 208V three phase is small to me today, and single phase a joke.
I've somehow involved in factory infrastructure (for testing lots and lots of servers), and to give you a wince, we're looking at upgrading our feed, as 7.5MVA isn't enough anymore...
It makes any breakers in my apartment feel like cheap toys. ;_;
@zetasyanthis In general, when you need to get out the 3φ plug to power something, it's going to be a pretty scary thing to work with.
