@LexYeen Is the ultimate difference just in how they're used, then? It sounds like the end result is pretty much identical.

@Felthry They also appear to be different diameters and wall thicknesses. Additionally, penne is sometimes ridged for extra surface area.
@Felthry Ziti is typically formed into much longer tubes that are broken up by hand during the cooking process, used in baked pasta dishes, or stuffed, while penne is pre-cut at an angle and used as a carrier for sauces.
