aaaaagh why is everything hard
-F

it feels like we have no energy lately, only really badly no energy, because we have so little free time

and we have what most people would probably consider plenty of free time but i think we just need more of it than others
-F

i don't really know what to do about this and it's really becoming a big problem

@Felthry I'm sorry. I've had similar feelings, though I think less severe than you're describing.

I don't want to annoy with suggestions, but have you tried the obvious things, like setting aside time to focus on something pleasant (mediation, a meal, books you enjoy, etc) without interruption? Or trying to sleep a 45 minutes more, or less, to see if that better fits your waking cycle? Or if you need to do something specific, can you coax yourself to doing 10 minutes, or 5, of it?

@Felthry And if I may bother you with one more obvious thing, but do you have any chores about cleaning or repairing or maintaining things you've been delaying? Often it's good to set time for those, because the act of making one's living space more orderly can help one feel more capable and more restful. And again that's something you can do in 5-minute chunks.

Again I apologize if I suggest things you've already done. It's hard to know at a distance like this.

@Felthry And probably a qualifier you already worked out. I'm thinking of what has helped me in similar situations. But I'm a person who usually finds emotional comfort in doing tasks, especially necessary tasks.

Not everyone is, or is all the time, and it may be anything I have to suggest is wrong for you or wrong for now. Please don't keep doing something if it seems to be making things worse.

@Felthry I think there's a real thing where some people just have fewer outs of effective work than others, and a flat 40h work-week takes much more of some people's time than others

@lioness what can we do about it because we really can't function like this much longer
-F

@Felthry do you have vacation time? personally I never even considered it, I figured I was going to need all my pto for doctors' appointments & stuff, but it probably would have helped

other than that, what I did was get paid 2x or more what I needed to survive, and alternate a year or two of work with a year or two of being burned out at home. I'm trying part time tutoring stuff now, and maybe with working fewer hours per week it'll be more sustainable?

@lioness not enough of it

at this point i feel like we need several weeks off, and to make it sustainable fewer hours per week
