food and poison

When I went shopping this morning, I saw some licorice allsorts and thought, my tastes have changed some, I should try them. I picked up the container, and the label had a prominent warning that it may contain lead. I put it back down on the shelf because I didn't quite know what to make of that. So that's how I learned that black licorice is contaminated with lead sometimes, and we're just putting it on the label and rolling with it.
