I feel like Samus is really interesting in terms of her place in pop culture and the divisiveness of her sexuality, but article i read about it seem to feebly grasp at the reasoning of like 'but samus is powerful so she can't be sexy or vulnerable' and like, i know that's not what those people mean, i think it's just a poorly captured sentiment reflecting something really interesting. The cw gives away where i'm going with this

@heatherhorns I feel like you can have powerful characters who flaunt their sexuality too, though (Bayonetta, for instance)--It's just that Samus isn't such a character; she's, well, a person on a mission, the kind of person to be concerned more with taking out the target than with any concerns about sexuality
