random thought: what is it with zelda games getting ridiculed upon release for aspects that people later consider part of what makes them great?
thinking specifically of wind waker's art style (lovely, charming, holds up fantastically well) and botw's music (atmospheric, subtle, really good)

BotW's music impressed me for its heavy use of piano, which I thought was a great way of sounding both classical-epic-fantasy and modern (by way of ancient laser machines) at the same time. Not many instruments have that kind of thematic range.
@Felthry artistic direction outpacing fan expectations of familiarity.
@Felthry Probably the ones not liking it pissing off after a while
@Felthry I feel like ain't nobody having this with Skyward Sword, though, haha, feels like most people still look at that and go
@sharkNserg i actually liked skyward sword for its dungeon design, which is honestly som eof the best in the series
it's just that it's so let down by Fi and excessive handholding and Fi
-F
@Felthry they do significantly tone down Fi and handholding and Fi in the Switch port, so there's that
@sharkNserg yeah, for the first hour, then everything is right back to how it was in the original
they kinda put the minimum effort into that port

@Felthry aw beans
At least you can mash through text much more quickly
...oof, that's sad to hear but also kind of what we expected.
poor skyward sword. such a promising game with such great dungeons ruined by such shit overall design.
@Felthry
They Changed It, It Sucks.
