I’m in two tabletops lately: a pathfinder one, with an average session like “we used these ability texts in a wacky way to kill this moderately cool boss”

and a Fate one, with an average session like “well after stealing an entire building by chaining it to the bottom of our airship and bringing it back to our home island, we accidentally uncovered a little more context about the civilization that built the ancient AI that lives in our base and are now even more nervous about working with it, but the AI’s access to an ancient superweapon is all that keeps any of the six major corporations from steamrolling us for betraying them before they could betray us first”

pathfinder, you’re trying, you really are, but nothing can beat a thin system with a really good story

@gardevoir this has been our experience with FATE and abortive attempts at other things

@gardevoir especially gurps where the whole plan got crushed under the weight of a million rulebooks before it even got slightly started
