i'd love to take apart the 1505 and look at how it does all its stuff but i don't think our boss would appreciate us voiding the warranty on a $100k piece of equipment

@zaradragon it technically wouldn't because the "warranty void if opened" thing is not legal in the US but we don't have the legal power to go up against keysight if they say it is
it'd definitely void the calibration though, opening up any precision instrumentation does

@zaradragon i guess it'd be transcat (the used equipment dealer we got it from--yes, it cost $100k used, this is extremely expensive equipment) we'd be going up against if we tried to claim warranty on it after opening it up but still

(technically we already did open up and look at how another piece of extremely expensive equipment works but that's because we bought it used for literally about a fiftieth its original price and it wasn't working entirely right so we had to fix it)
