why is it called dominos pizza anyway

@Felthry Story goes that it had started as Dominick's, named for the guy who founded it. New people took the place over. They wanted to buy more pizza places and make a chain; the original Dominick didn't want his name used like that. So they cast about for a new name and one of their delivery guys suggested 'Domino's', which was near enough the old while not stepping on Dominick's toes.

@Felthry Other story goes the domino in the logo is a one-and-two to represent the original three locations, one in Ypsilani and two in Ann Arbor, Michigan (the cities are right next to each other). They thought about adding a new dot for each restaurant and realized the limits of that process.
