the new cpu cooler turned out to be like a giant fucking 5" brick of metal with a 120mm fan on it, it is an absolute shit brickhouse

it's also a $50 best buy cooler though so it's doing better than i expected already
@kat CPU coolers are pretty overpriced in general, I'd say $50 to $70 would be a pretty reasonable price for a reasonably large extruded aluminum heatsink and a PC fan, but Because Gamers™, a lot of people can get away with charging hundreds of dollars for less

@kat but yeah that's pretty good still, our laptop idles at around 60~70 °C with just a web browser and a couple chat programs (also web browsers because electron) open and you're doing a lot better than that
(though i think we need to blow some dust out of the fan grilles and it might get lower)
