@Kaffe@chitter.xyz it is wrong (the proper plural if you go to the greek root would be octopodes) but it is also right (that's what people use as the plural of octopus)
English isn't really the only language like that, that's the prevailing attitude of linguists in general, but english is an example of a language that doesn't have a language authority who says what the official language is (French and Spanish both have one of these, I think, for instance)
