Ah yes, that part of the year where muscle memory wants to bash in the previous year...

Using dates in your file names:

Pro - Everything has a chronological order

Con - You fuck it up repeatedly at the start of the year

I would though genuinely suggest you attach dates to your files tho. You can still call things sadfafdsgas but it'll be 2022-01-03 - adsfasdgagsad

@DarkOverord don't most filesystems have "date created" and "date modified" metadata fields?

Though having it in the filename could be convenient.

@Felthry Yeah absolutely, but it helps for looking at a glance, especially if you haven't set up the folder to show that or if you prefer to organise by filetype etc.

It's also 'cus a lot of artists can be *really* bad at both naming their files and organising them. I've seen some people just have like, years, of their stuff just in one folder with filenames like dafasdfaadf dafasdfaadf(1) dafasdfaadf(2) safadsadfas aafafafsasf adsfasfasdaf adsfasfasdaf(1) etc. :P

@Felthry Yeah one year I just got sick of having a folder full of junk filenames and started at least trying to vaguely organise

I mostly say this to try and help others to actually improve their organisation haha
