character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

Hisuian Typhlosion goth gamer girl.

(Don't tell me it doesn't work within the timeline of the series, they've introduced multiverse theory *AND* time travel on several occasions.)

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

Damnit, character's forming.

Streamer focused on realistic FPS games and responsible weed use. Zero tolerance for the usual forms of shithead found in stream chat and ingame VOIP, generally pretty chill even when angry, and good enough to dismantle teams of stream-snipers without breaking a sweat. Doesn't typically flame-on, though it does happen sometimes - lag, bad RNG, and cheaters are the most likely to cause reflexive self-ignition, but this is not a comprehensive list.

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@LexYeen Suddenly VERY curious about their take on sponsorships considering dxracers and expensive headsets probably aren't good for them due to the occasional pyrotechnics.

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@trysdyn "Headsets are a no-go, but wireless in-ear monitors are fine due to the way they tuck right into the ear. Kneeling desk chairs are better than gamer chairs too, since there's no back to get caught by the neck flames."

(I hadn't thought about this at all until writing it, BTW.)

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@LexYeen Yeah. For some reason I went "Wait, are we talking about Cyndaquil here?" and had a moment of doubt then realized yes, we are, evolved.

I'm a pretty low-quality jolteon considering I don't remember this stuff :P

Anyway, I think it'd be an amusing wild take. "I just got this sweet gaming chair and *FWOOSH* -- aw shit"

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@trysdyn "Why don't you have a gamer chair?"

"Insurance won't cover another apartment fire."

@LexYeen @trysdyn I love these thoughts, please have more of them!

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@Felthry @trysdyn Well, if either of y'all wanna keep poking me for character thoughts, I ain't gonna say no.

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@LexYeen @trysdyn well, does her ghost typing ever get in the way? I'm imagining getting too into the game and then oops the controller fell through her hands

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@Felthry "Horror games and I don't get along for precisely that reason. It's the combination of tension and jumpscares. Haven't had it happen in a multiplayer FPS yet, I think because in those I've got a big gun and a shitload of ammo, but when I tried Alien Isolation I fell right through the floor when the first jumpscare hit me. Glad the downstairs neighbors weren't home."

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@LexYeen Yeah, horror games don't get along with us either, though for less severe reasons. I'm sure that was quite the adjustment after you evolved!

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@Felthry "It took some getting used to, but I did my reading beforehand to prepare myself. Even talked to a couple others that also get the same cross-type when evolving, to get an idea of what the experience would be like. Closest comparison I can think of is learning what puberty will do to the body before it happens, but instead of growing hair in weird places and dealing with emphasized secondary sexual characteristics, it was learning how to keep myself in phase with reality."

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@LexYeen I get the sense that it'd be the same kind of feeling as holding yourself solid when you're a liquid shapeshifter. Ah, but now I'm jealous of you getting to experience what that's like!

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@LexYeen Some other points I'm curious about:
- Any roommates, or does she live alone?
- What kind of games are her favorite to play, and favorite to stream, if the two are different?
- Speedruns, or just streaming stuff?
- Do I even have the right pronouns, I'm not sure where I got she/her from

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@Felthry 1: One-bedroom apartment, no roommates. I justify this by believing a world populated by anthro pokemon would handle housing way better than it's handled in our reality.

2: Mostly multiplayer FPS games with semi-realistic mechanics. Best example I can think of offhand is Escape From Tarkov, but there are others - I just don't remember right now.

3: "Speedruns aren't for me. RNJesus is mean enough in multiplayer."

4: You've got it right. 👍

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@LexYeen I think the vast majority of worlds out there have better housing than this one. But even given free housing, I'm sure there are people who'd choose to have roommates!

Also can I just say, I love getting to learn more about a character by actually talking to them as a real person--because as far as we're concerned they are a real person (our spirituality is a little weird but basically boils down to "all worlds exist in meaningful ways")

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@Felthry I've always loved the idea that, because multiverse theory defines the extra-universal space as infinite, any fictional world anyone could possibly think up may actually exist in a universe that isn't ours. And it's only more plausible when that fictional world already includes multiverse theory.

"As for roommates? Ehh... I'm not opposed to the idea, but the logistics of streaming with a roommate *and* finding someone who's okay with Ghost types makes it more trouble than I'm willing to go through."

re: character thoughts (anthro pokemon)

@LexYeen We're about the same, but less pop-sciencey and more philosophical/spiritual. Kind of ontological maximalism, but not really?

Anyway I think this typh's world is a good one if it has people like her in it. Would love to see one of her streams.

@Felthry "If anyone figures out how to broadcast into a space-time rift, I'll let you know. ;)"
