if you had to pick one AAA video game to call a true work of art, which would it be?
(i'm aware there are far more indie games that are very clearly deep artistic works, that's why i want to restrict it to AAA games to see what people think is particularly artistic in that area)

@trysdyn yeah that's the first one that comes to mind for us too, that and Ico

@Felthry Destiny. Or at least Destiny 2, that's the only one I've played. I don't actually enjoy it, but the writing and story and all is something special.
@Felthry Death Stranding. I should specific that I don't even particularly love that game, I think it is quite flawed in some ways, but everything about it is made with intense intentionality of expressing certain ideas and feelings that, yeah, I'd call it an art game.
@Felthry other games I was thinking of: Metal Gear Solid 2 for its extremely prophetic political commentary, and Silent Hill 2 for its psychological horror
and, it's important that both of those are very videogamey videogames that present their themes in a way only video games could; you can't really adapt either to a movie without losing a ton because their storytelling is crafted around putting a player in the protagonist's shoes
boy, I'm really into Konami stuff of that era, huh
