I'm never sure if being aro/ace counts, because if anything it feels like the opposite. Past straight and out the other side into "no".

@dodec I'd count it! the way we define queer is just anything that isn't the societal norm, and being aro/ace is not the societal norm

yep, I count it too for the same reason. ace/aro people definitely have that same kind of lack of representation in media and role models and 'wait, you DON'T want to get married/have sex?' confusion

i remember being annoyed at shoehorned-in romance subplots in media long before we knew what aromanticism was
