@heatherhorns elder scrolls has at least the redguard, nord, imperial, and breton peoples, and there might be more

there's also a bunch of different elven peoples too, which in that universe includes dwarves (but dwarves had a Weird Thing Happen and may or may not be extinct now, depending on how you define "extinct")

@Felthry @heatherhorns I think it's partly 'cause the first Elder Scrolls game was from so far back. D&D got in trouble for things like that, since certain 'barbarian' styled human 'races' would have intelligence penalties, in particular one based on the American first peoples.

Until then, it wasn't uncommon to have bonuses or penalties for being part of a different culture inside of a single 'race'.

The Forgotten Realms in particular has a lot of messes like that. The Drow especially.
