poetry Opinions 

I have Opinions about poetry. Namely that I do not in the least bit enjoy people who define poetry as needing to adhere to any rule, because an inherently beautiful part about poetry in how i see it is that the the rules only, and I mean ONLY, exist as a metaphorical means to play with and break beyond.

@Oneironott poetry is the embodiment of "rules are meant to be broken", in that the rules primarily exist so that they can be broken

@Felthry *nod* it's a very wonderful thing that is often failed to be taught to folks when they are exposed to poetry in school. In fact, it's often strictly rules-heavy, and I find that deeply unfortunate.
I did have one rad teacher that had very... imperfect opinions about beat generation poetry in hindsight, but she did absolutely grok this and managed to teach that lol
