I mentioned to someone last week that I used to have pet rats and he was like "yeah that tracks" and it feels good to be understood like that

I can't explain why rat-liking is queer culture but it is

@prehensile the name has negative connotations but they're universally lovable in practice

they don't have a status as like, ironically cute but anyone will love a rat if they don't like, think ahead of time "oh rats are supposed to be the gross one, right?"

i'd say queer culture is liking them for them
