@socks I don't think you're wrong honestly. We hit a point where we stopped growing closer to photorealism and devs starting picking which flavor of "Close but not quite" (or even "Not close at all") they wanted. I'm not entirely sure when that point was but Ryse is the game I pick as the watershed moment where I first went "This has gotten silly"
On a factual level though, the crypto crash ensured no wise dev studio moved their system requirements past the 1000 series because it'd mean a ton of people just couldn't play because... whoof.
