@Felthry You're one of the lucky 10,000 for this bit of Warhammer 40k lore: The Golden Throne is a device in the setting which, among its many other functions, keeps its occupant "alive" indefinitely at the cost of sacrificing mass quantities of humans on a daily basis. The Emperor of Mankind was interred upon it after being mortally wounded by his "son" (really more of a one-off genetically engineered super-soldier template) Horus during the events of the Horus Heresy.

The joke being that the monarchy, having historically and currently proven to have little to no regard for the average citizen's well-being, would have put Queen Liz on the Golden Throne if it existed.
