@tillianisafox that one wealthy furry dude from the UK especially.

@Russell @tillianisafox ehh... I'd say case-by-case basis on this one, with a *lot* of weight on what they're doing for that money and how much of it they're pumping into the marginalized members of the furry community.
like,
someone who's designing the newest knife missiles or pulling down huge money from early investments in amazon or walmart or any other hell-corp and commissioning only well-known and popular marginalized artists from a multi-thousand-dollar desktop PC in the comfort of their very own private home with no roommates and a closet full of fursuits from the Big Name builders is definitely on the menu because /c'mon dude/
but the code jockey or math hyper-nerd sharing a rental home with other nerds and getting a fistful of sketches every paycheck from a bunch of really cool new artists you've never heard of before and are living in struggletown 24/7/365 in the rest of their life is pretty deep in the "capitalism is hell" zone no matter how much they're pulling in because it's clearly not enough for anyone in that house to make ends meet, IMO

@LexYeen @tillianisafox the guy I’m talking about has like, a ton of money. They have a huge car collection, they’re that dude that owns a tank and races in BritCar, a Nissan GTR GT3 car that he races and owns with his goddamn fursona on it.
@Russell @tillianisafox ducking out of the content warning to say I've never heard of this guy but that description of him is an entirely new type of guy that my guy'dex has never encountered before, and the mere concept made my stomach turn. carry on.
@LexYeen @tillianisafox yeah, being around the car furs part of the fandom, he’s well known there. People are drawn to him like moths to a flame, since haha funny fursuiter showing up to fur meets in a McLaren.
I have friends that know him as swear he’s an alright dude but he’s ALWAYS made me feel like something is way off with him.
@Russell @tillianisafox @LexYeen i feel like they get it into their heads that they know things that they really don't, or something. they see one example of a thing and assume that a) they have seen everything possible about that example and b) all other such things are identical to the example, even if the example is a strawman
and they just don't seem to understand that they could be wrong.

@Russell @tillianisafox @LexYeen more than just refusing to accept that they're wrong it feels sometimes like they literally cannot comprehend the idea of being wrong
