I believe I'm set to begin the final leg of Tales of Arise.
Man sakes did the personality and plight of the protagonist bounce off vee, but I like every other character and their interplay carried it.
The combat though is so much tighter and slicker than Berseria, at least the way I play. I feel like jumping ahead to Berseria and Arise is going to make it hard to go back to Symphonia and Abyss eventually.
@trysdyn I do look forward to how you like Symphonia and Abyss though! It might be easier if you play Eternia first? That one is different enough of a game to feel more like a different thing entirely than "why are these features missing", combat system wise, but it's similar enough to the earlier 3D ones that you can go from it to Symphonia pretty easily

@trysdyn Zestiria is well known for being.... not great, so i wouldn't blame you for skipping it.
Symphonia feels a lot like Eternia, then it goes off into its own thing. Berseria and Arise grew out of a mechanics rework they did starting with Graces (still one of the more satisfying ones to play) and Xillia. Everything between Eternia and Graces is just more refinements on the same theme.

@trysdyn Do play Symphonia before any of the later ones though. That one's missing a feature all the rest have and it feels painful not to have it when you go back to it after playing Vesperia or Abyss.
