Thinking some more about Project Xenia and what it needs, I've gone back to look at the Arabic pixel font I made last week. Why? Well, "Arabic pixel font" was something I'd felt a need for for years and was always afraid to tackle. Every time I started to plan out a pixel font, there'd be a block labeled "Arabic, maybe". I didn't know enough about it to make it work. Deciding to push through and learn enough to make it look okay was an important piece of progress.

So — that, but for animation.

@bj would be neat to see a pixel font that supports all of the unicode BMP. not that i think you should do that, just that it would be neat

@Felthry Check out Fairfax (and its HD cousin). These were made by Rebecca Bettencourt, a font designer who would later go on to be instrumental in getting the "Legacy Computer" block into Unicode. She's made a ton of cool fonts, all worth a look.

@Felthry I use Fairfax HD as my normal terminal font. It's attractive and has good default spacing.

@bj it has so many different scripts and yet there doesn't seem to be anything about including arabic or any of the brahmic scripts... it should do arabic and devenagari at least

feels a bit odd that they'd include stuff like D'ni and Tengwar and Klingon before actual scripts used in the real world
