@LexYeen @JulieSqveakaroo it'd be pretty effective at close range, i imagine

@LexYeen @JulieSqveakaroo Eh, pretty sure a shotgun shell fulla pennies would do some damage

@Felthry @JulieSqveakaroo I was thinking more along the lines of misusing portable spot-welding equipment powered by lithium-ion batteries, and compressed air sources.

Realistically, it's more likely to blow up the barrel and explode in your face.
Due to the randomness of the direction and velocity of any of the pennies, the possibility of them jamming up in a narrow barrel exists pretty strongly, and all that force has to go somewhere.
If the barrel was open enough, then targeting is impossible, and would create a LOT of random collateral damage and injury outside of your intention.
A payload of pennies is far more useful as shrapnel in a small explosive device... which is a different, and still problematic thing.
This is all purely theoretical and speculative, of course. All machinists have Mythbuster-like thought experiments, in them.
@JulieSqveakaroo @Felthry As do fanfic writers. I imagine I'm on a few dusty old lists somewhere just because of the things I've looked up for references.
@Felthry @JulieSqveakaroo Depends entirely on the delivery method. Sufficiently high energy designs are... Probably war crimes the more I think about it.
