Misgendering, Birdsite screencap
So I just got misgendered by someone (MsDecapre, formerly known as Carby) who was angry about the stuff I said a year ago that I now regret.
I can understand being called an asshole or even a fash for those shitty actions I took, and I will apologize and own up. But to casually misgender, and then pretend to not know? That crosses a line.

To keep talking about this. This is NOT how you deal with someone when you found out they've said awful things in the past. You SHOULD call people out for it, you should hold people accountable for those actions...
And If you've called me out for my past actions as a former fascist, you are telling me that I can trust you, because you have standards that you're willing to uphold in your community.
Do NOT, under any circumstances, misgender someone as punishment. All you're telling me is that the only thing about leftism that you've adopted are the aesthetics, and that everything else around you points to oppressive ideology. Because, guess what, fascists love using misgendering as a cudgel, or a tool for manipulation and social control, something that you just did.
If I ever catch you doing this misgendering as punishment bullshit to another person, I will drop you instantly.

@Facet My friend (OkBirdii) pushed her shit in for that. He's also mad because he's trans (FtM) and she also misgendered his girlfriend.
She deleted her interactions with him when she realized she fucked up so badly she couldn't possibly come out of it looking good.

@FreyaManibrandr This is the thing I dislike the most about all this stuff. That we've grown so anti-redemption even amidst ourselves. Like... If you're someone directly hurt by a person or group's actions, I can accept that as being something too hard to move past, even if they've legitimately done better.
But just reciting the doctrine of the permanent-ostracization hate mentality makes you, in fact, the problem.

@Facet Yeah, that's what gets me. She (the person who misgendered me) is trans, she should really have known that this is something you just don't do.
