@Fuego Tanto tipped knives really confuse me, it's a bad tip for most the utility tasks a knife does. Horrid for slicing up a sandwich >_>

@Fuego I know tanto tips are intended for armor piecing it just always strikes me as odd to make one a standard carry knife

@IrisKalmia We have different reasons for carrying knives maybe ;)

@Fuego I think so, yes! Generally I'd assume for poking holes in someone the handgun would do the trick. Personally I'd want a baton if that's where things are going. IDK to me knifes are almost purely utility items given firearms and better dedicated melee weapons exist.

Have you actually practiced piercing a IIA vest with that?

@Fuego IIA because if I recall correctly is the heaviest I'd expect on a typical body, I think anything with ceramics would probably be beyond it.

@IrisKalmia Batons are sadly illegal in MA.

That knife was a gift from work clients for whom armor piercing is a requirement. Generally it's good for when I can't carry the pistol, or when I'm with people who would prefer I do not.

I have certainly (and still do) practice with it formally.

violence

@Fuego *nodnodnod* yeah, I do "love" that batons tend to be illegal while devices that only can stop someone by bleeding them to death are perfectly fine.

Our laws and views towards self defense are so fucked.

violence

@Fuego I love the idea of the tazer pulse but it's never going to be popular because in the US it's better to put three holes in someone, ensuring death, than it is to use the weapon police use at the slightest provocation. Fuck this shitty country >_>
