hey, uh, if you have a problem with otherkin, do us both a favor and mute/block me now, eh? I rarely toot about it but I am, have been for longer than the internet has been a thing (yes, probably longer than you statistically speaking have been *alive*). I've just been hearing whispers about this being a problem somehow carrying over from tumblr, I don't know the context or understand and don't really care. don't be assholes, right?
@troodon As I understand it from folks I followed over there, Tumblr’s community replicated the fora- and USENET-era community issues we older folks remember from earlier otherkin communities. Some of that is because it’s a younger community, some of it is because of specific circles of people, and there are quite a few good folks coming in too that could use a healthier community.
I think it’ll help if instance admins help us sift trolls out, too, and I encourage them to do so.
