As Windows 11 gets more antagonistic (and broken, as per 25H2 breaking the recovery screen apparently) I really wish I could more easily escape it to Linux but I use a bunch of proprietary stuff, VR, and also a Surface Pro 8 for art.
I'm not switching to fucking iPads. I want to stick to a desktop OS for doing art.
This is a sincere question though: can I get Linux going on my SP8 and actually still have *the reasons you get a Surface* still working - the touch screen, pen, and pen pressure. Paint Tool SAI working would also be preferable.
Unfortunately even supposing https://github.com/linux-surface/linux-surface is good, and the linux-surface kernel results in a smooth touch experience, the camera appears to be notably broken, and I have a rare need for the webcam for Zoom things.
