The Fallout games have amazing storytelling but each game up until 4 only has like ONE area that contains colours other than BROOOOOWN

Even fucking Skyrim was brown and grey, and that was a magical dragon adventure!

@InTheLandOfTheRisingSun I had fun playing Gears of War 4 (which is actually colorful) so I decided to try out the earlier Gears games and they're ALL drenched in brown, just coffee-colored everything, it's oppressive

@overclicked Bulletstorm is probably the most colourful shooter I can think of off the top of my head from that era

@InTheLandOfTheRisingSun Part of my love for Borderlands 2 was 100% that it was just so much more comic-book colorful than anything else around it (including the first Borderlands which is downtown brown town)

@overclicked was the first one really that brown? I feel like I remember there being praise for colourful visuals at the time

@InTheLandOfTheRisingSun I think the ending got a little colorful with the whole alien vault thing? But outside that I don't remember much that wasn't just a dust bowl

@InTheLandOfTheRisingSun Honestly this could 100% be my poor memory, I did play it after BL2 so I was going back in time and it may just have been less colorful than a 3-years-newer game which isn't saying much

@overclicked I like this slowly developing theory that as time goes on, games get more colourful. By the mid 2020s, we may be discovering new colours.
