why I don't like the internet

I think part of the reason why I dislike the internet so much is because when i first got in-home internet, I thought I was getting it as a convenience. Before I moved to America, I had to go into town to use a computer. But then when I moved to America, I was able to get broadband way more affordably, so I got broadband internet and a desktop. Then eventually I realized that this wasn't a convenience anymore, I actually needed to have it now. At that point in time, I'd lived most of my life without in-home internet. I'd moved to America in my late 20s. So it was just this really sudden jolt that all of a sudden I needed to have an internet connection. I wasn't (and I'm still not) interested in fancy modern tech, except for games consoles. It was like the world was being changed out from underneath me without me having any say in it. That feeling's really only gotten worse since then. If I'd known what getting broadband internet installed was going to lead to, I'd still be driving into town once a week to check my email.
