My current gig does lunch for all employees. It’s weird to work gigs like here or the last place where “startup” means stuff like “we have beer and wine on Friday” after 2017 being constantly told I was doing 2-4 people’s work because we were a startup.
Today’s lunch is surprisingly bland middle eastern. Like I can see going light on garlic, but light on lemon juice?
Everyone tends to eat together except the accountants where I sit.

This is kinda nice though they talk about vacations, daycare for the kids, tv shows (when asked for recommendations I said I really liked The Expanse), stocks (?). I feel like I show up saying “Hello fellow humans! How is your bipedal locomotion going today? I’ve really been enjoying driving on freeways lately.”
Also although we’re fairly diverse as far as East Asian/mid eastern/East Indians, and there are some Latinos, I have exactly one Black coworker, and that bugs me.
