Whoa. People were apparently confused about the "Bao" short in Incredibles II, b/c in part they didn't understand that was a dumpling.
I've been around the concept of hombow and eating them for my entire life except for a little bit in REALLY rural Georgia. This is like realizing the concept of peanut butter is alien to some people (it is BUT).
And even if it didn't SPEAK TO THE MOST RESONANT DEPTHS OF MY FAMILY EXPERIENCE or whatevs, I thought the plot/analogy of the short was pretty obvious?

@Leucrotta as the story kicked off I was expecting a--there's a fairy tale that is very similar, something like "woman who can't have children finds a baby in a pea pod," but she raises her baby and it becomes a "real human." but when the mom *eats* the rebellious dumpling baby it was a "whoah!" moment. when the actual son showed up, I tried to figure out if mom had been hallucinating or? so yeah, it's just /different/ enough to confuse people, which is great! XD
