Years ago I tried to get certified as an accountant, but I just didn’t have the money to really go back to school. A prereq was Introduction to Business which, like you’d probably expect, had only good things to say about capitalism. This is why my opinion is a little less “there’s nothing good here, burn the fucker to the ground” than a lot of Mastodonians.

to build a comfortable society. And I could imagine government and unions playing a role too; educated confident consumers and well paid employees with health care, without horrible debt, are more likely to start businesses or dump money into existing markets. Regulation creates markets and additional jobs, protects resources for long term surviv... I mean growth. It could be nice to have a place to go for resources other than community or government. I think there’s a way to have capitalism *actually be* all the noble sentiment about circulating wealth and thriving markets, but I have no clue (other than vague ideas about UBI, rent control, unions, universal health care and affordable education,etc) how to get there from here.
How do you convince those in power that, if resources are a 1-10 scale, most people being at 5 and a few people at 8 is healthier for everyone than most people being at 1-3 and a few at 10-12?
