Ph-, money, religion mention
So they x-rayed my mouth and were able to seal the crown back on my molar EXCEPT now they want to deepen the crown, which is reasonable, and which will require pulling the unerupted wisdom tooth immediately behind it, which is also reasonable. But my dental insurance kicks in next month, and the dentists are only open during normal work hours so I need to take time off, which means I don’t feel comfortable also asking for Yom Kippur off as I’d really wanted.

@GraySpots I’m hourly, and I don’t think time’s accrued yet, but will check with the HR guy.
re: Ph-, money, religion mention
@GraySpots if you’d told me as a kid I’d actively WANT to skip work to fast and pray I would’ve laughed it off. Who wants to seek out feeling bad?
re: Ph-, money, religion mention
@GraySpots like most of my spirituality, “this is an emotional connection with the rest of the world” is far more compelling than “mollify the adults and maybe they won’t slam down on me” (including perception of G-d as another adult, which I feel bad about).
