monarchy

The Lady of the Lake handed Excalibur, the blade of kings forged in long forgotten myth, to Charles III, that's historically how you become king of England, right? Presumably Elizabeth II's long life was due to having the scabbard.

Presumably Commonwealth countries have similar ladies and magic swords, like Slipashrimponthebarbie, which is highly venomous because Australia.

re: monarchy

The reigning monarch's power over the Commonwealth and showing up on their currency is represented by all the swords they've been handed by ladies in glistening samite. This is why no English monarch has fought since George II, the sword belt gets too unwieldy to lug around.

re: monarchy

not that this matters because, of course, some day Owain Glyn Dwr shall return, thus allowing the Welsh to foul the place up on their own, without outside assistance.

@Leucrotta Okay now they just need a backpack of extra robotic arms so they can wield them all like General Grievous!
