it's my sincere hope that typing up a huge long post about where I'm not really happy about my fellow leftists, then going naw, saying it won't do anything other'n maybe anger people and deleting it, is actually cathartic and relieves the desire to say it.

seriously terrible things inform my country's past (in fact, everyone's past) and injustices need to be acknowledged. But talking about it can feel like the sort of dour virtue I grew up with (dour virtue is unconstrained by politics) and can feel very childhood - some adult has told me to feel X deeply, I need to oblige them, rather than X actually concerns me a lot. And there's personal resentment in there, which brings up whether I just want to feel off the hook.
