Facing an old issue. ADHD might elegantly explain some consistent problems (RSD, inability to focus on this stuff I do only because it’s required of me and feeling stuck there, and I’m always doing it wrong etc). But that could also be PTSD/CPTSD right? And worse I know you can get CPTSD from people reacting badly to ADHD. Testing reveals work is where I’m least focused and motivated. I guess a label doesn’t matter, what’s important is the negative feelings and how to hack them.
@Leucrotta I think labeling isn't as important unless you're talking to a health care professional (in this economy?) and you and they are both up to date on what the labels are currently being used to mean. So much shifting as new research and understanding (painfully slowly) comes about.
I'm doing some of the same sort of work you are, pinning down where my problems are stemming from and addressing triggers and my reactions to them. I'll probably never have a label other than "mom fucked up my childhood, let me count the ways," but I can do the work to untangle the mess she made.
