Apparently Starbucks has instant coffee and is supposedly better quality than other instants. Maybe we should try some.

@frostwolf It's pretty good. Trader Joe's used to have awesome instant, but they haven't had that available for a while.

@Leucrotta Oh, nice, thanks! That's great to know!

Damn, Trader Joe's was another thing on some random "list of good instant coffee brands" and there's one in Berkeley, I was thinking of swinging by there to pick some up. (I don't know if the Berkeley Target is big enough to have the Starbucks stuff, but– hey, it's Berkeley, fancy shit is their thing. It might have this /instead/ of the cheap brands.)

@Leucrotta We tried Cafe Bustelo freeze-dried a while back, and it was pretty bitter.

Lately we've just been having bottled coffee from the fridge section, which tastes pretty good, but also runs out quick! Hence thinking about getting back into instant again.

@frostwolf Yeah. It's good but... not quite that good. Trader Joe's by me has been out of the instant for a while and they have the cold brew stuff which is pretty good, but I feel a little less convenient.

@Leucrotta huh, what's the cold brew stuff like?

also it turns out the Starbucks one isn't even just a little bag of powder – it's 8 individual packets. Yike.

@frostwolf Yeah. One packet per cup. So it's good, it's just pricey, it's not the instant you want to stick with much. The cold brew is liquid so you have to refrigerate it once opened, and it's 1 part cold brew to 2 parts milk or water, which winds up working really well with almond milk (I can't have dairy).

@Leucrotta Oh, nice! We need to find ourselves some sweetened almond milk. We've had unsweetened and it was bitter, but sweetened should be better.

@Leucrotta ooh!

That sounds lovely; hope we can find some. Soy is easy to find sweetened, but I think I recall almond milk being harder.
