yeah. I'm frustrated, feel pretty doomed and I'm getting the "everyone ELSE my age does meaningful important shit with their lives and I've accomplished what, exactly?" imho that's a sign that some childhood buttons have been pushed hard and I need a break if I'm to interview at all well later.

I'm trying to get out of the mindset of doing things to impress people and doing things to impress myself
@chimerror I gotta believe this is some sort of basic cognitive distort, personal stuff plus “I gotta prove myself worthy of safety to these people.” Something you basically get free with your brain, such a bargain.
@Leucrotta perhaps if we lived in a society that valued people for their own base existence and not for their suitability to labor or preferred breeding these feelings would be less, though they would surely still exist
