rant, about prejudices
There are two big problems in combating racism;
first, BEING a racist is commitment, but ACTING racist is horrifyingly easy. There's a lot I don't know, might assume about the world, especially if I'm told things from a biased source, and I might just go with it and hurt people pretty unintentionally.
Okay, fine, so we talk, I'm shocked and back down right? We're gonna leave aside "yeah, but J Random Minority shouldn't have to drop everything/risk argument" for the moment.
But second, unfortunately racism gets BUILT into a structure of discussion, such that it's a lot more appealing to double down and continue running with everything you'd been thinking. We as a society aren't good at someone being wrong and that's okay.
