@Tuftears I was listening to the Wrath of Khan soundtrack at the time! I've actually heard an interview with Ricardo Montalban in which he actually explained the whole "rich Corinthian leather" deal.

@Tuftears Okay (tell me to shut up if you need); apparently Montalban's family was from CORdova, rather than the usual pronunciation corDOva, so people overheard him saying the name a lot. Apparently he sounded cool enough that the ad agency made up "Corinthian" as a description for the leather upholstery so they'd get to use him saying COR anything.
