uspol angry rant
let's pretend for a brief moment illegal immigration is something to crack down on and law enforcement in general actually serves and protects the community.
You can probably guess what I think, but let's pretend. An agency about this has exactly NO authority or reason to;
1) haul unarmed civilians off to camps anywhere, especially outside the country, potentially for free labor
2) fight "gang crime," that's for other agencies (and adjacent organizations like the USCG)
3) spontaneously execute or kidnap anyone, illegal or not
4) openly advocate racism
5) have a larger budget than an actual branch of the military, a lot of which goes to cronies' companies
6) serve as a way for the President to get back at states and cities he doesn't personally like
7) serve as a way for the President and his party to woo conservative voters with a feel-good war, only without the downside of Americans coming back traumatized, disabled, or in flag draped coffins
Again I feel the most conservative position has to be "suspend operations temporarily until potentially years of investigations have been completed, temporarily authorize and fund alternative (perhaps state/local agencies) to do the actual stated job." This isn't of course what I ACTUALLY think, because I don't think ICE has EVER acted in good faith.
