I really hate how fucking intrusive this goddamned regime is. I might never come under surveillance, but boom, it's there every fucking day. It makes Twitter untenable, it makes me think about it when I'm trying to chill out, and because my friends are here, I talk about it here.
It's the classic narcissist thing - keep pulling vicious crap to keep you off guard, keep you focused on them - only unlike getting fired from New Tech, I can't get away from 45.

And another thing which thank God my younger friends won't have, though they will have this from Dubya; I'm old enough to remember a bit of the Reagan years (past the fog of PTSD) and so "the President is this vicious asshole and does whatever egregious bullshit he wants, and my fellow citizens in the south eat it up" is an ongoing background script which does NOT HAVE GOOD ASSOCIATIONS FOR ME.
