Again, violent versus nonviolent protests I think is too nuanced to say one or the other is always more ethical and practical. History doesn’t lean either way (no matter what you’re looking at dead or ruined protesters, and the prior success of nonviolent independence and civil rights movements might hinge on a less controlled media). Worse, when you retake your power through violence about the nicest guys you wind up with are like what, Moshe Dayan, Ariel Sharon?

And no matter what - violence or no - fucking right wingers will edit the history afterwards so that their fucking egregious side remains relatively unsullied.
