Bezos related crankiness
My stints at Amazon were pretty benign and years ago (when scrabbling for money in Seattle still meant you could rent a tiny efficiency), and still featured being disposable temp labor, surviving a purge of temps who weren’t inputting data fast enough then a move to a job site halfway across Seattle, working mandatory 50 hour weeks management was “hoping wouldn’t become mandatory 60 hour weeks.” That’s my tiny part in building this asshat’s “Amazon winnings.”
Bezos related crankiness
Maybe part of why a publicly funded space program is good is that it belongs to all of us, not just part of some multibillionaire’s quirky lovable public image? And therefore provides less glamorous stuff than Mars colonies or perfect re-entries, shit like weather satellites? And therefore come out of uncontributing shit like Bezos or Musk more directly than they fucked up a lot of lives and just might trade us some rockets for the favors?
