So there's a weird feedback loop for him. He knows what he is. He's got a Really Really good idea of what he is, gender-wise. It's the one he got assigned at thirteen or fourteen. Yes, Male... But the male that not only may walk in the temple, but Needs to be there. Someone has to fix the plumbing and tend the Gardens.
