I'm beginning to suspect gender presentation is the same way, and everyone is comfortable with different traits in different combinations.

We're not just Complicated, Vain, and attention hungry, but we're used to humans thinking all dragons are 'He' or 'She' Dragons. We're just kinda also sick of it.

Plenty of the He dragons I know have laid clutches of eggs before and lots of the She dragons I know have Bad Dragon toys between their legs. And those definitions and physical configurations are subject to change.
Why? Because we're polymorphing arcane shapeshifters with overpowered brains who like Diversity in their sexual experiences.
