Industry, griping, Boomers

I spent four years of my life working in mil-spec at two different companies as a Temp.

I saw how things were Designed, built, and tested. I've been reading about the 737MAX and Boeing lately.

I can see why the planes crashed. I can see why there's a Coverup. I can see why it's a massive problem.

I've worked these places. They're run by Boomers, staffed by Boomers, and everything Exists just to provide a comfortable, low-stress existence for some of the Worst, most Lazy, ineffective Engineers I've ever known.

All the actual Work is done by Temps, while the Good Old Gang of boomers forms the Core of the department. Nobody Cares about their job, nobody is Driven, and the entire structure of the Company is designed to be as Expensive and Wasteful as possible.

So I'm Really Salty lately. If we ever had to engage in a Real War, we wouldn't be able to scale up production in any meaningful way. And the folks who actually Know what's going on in the company are being Downsized, their positions Eliminated for more Profits, and before you know it...

An entire department is one boomer, a Genx-er, and fifteen Temps who aren't going to get Trained. Seven aren't going to make it a Week, because they don't Already Know how to do the job, and the rest are working Below their pay grade and skill level.

Congrats, that's how we build our highest tech: with underpaid, temp, no benefits labor, all so Useless Fat White Boomers can have a Career.
