yes I have believed this forever
yes everybody has been saying this forever
yes it's real, no it's not a metaphor we are parts of a living biome impacting each other that covers the whole planet, that is science, that is what multiple indigenous peoples in the area that is now occupied the northern US have been telling us, and i'm sorry i don't know their names. i will make it a personal project to look up and take note of each and every indigenous community that declares this to be their faith. because it is a faith i share.
i am not indigenous to this land. i shouldn't be on it. i hope to aid now that i am on it. i wish to pray to the land. the land does not have to bear me up but it does. my prayers are informal but i give them spontaneously and from the heart.
i want to learn how to guard the land, and where i should go to guard the land. perhaps that's all i've ever wanted.*
