@masklayer Chromebooks are nice if you don't need them for heavier stuff. For some things, the ability to remote into your desktop to do work can cover some edge cases. Their usability is increasing with the ability to run android apps now, but I havn't tinkered much with that.
@Oneironott @jenbug (u both said the same thing so responding) I probably will recommend the higher end config I was going to recommend, and then say chromebook for cheaper recommendation, but the problem is they need to use it in a place with spotty internet next year.
@masklayer @jenbug@glitch.social Ahh. My general recommendations regardless of brand or whatnot is to eye refurb and/or open box deals. I'm not sure how Lenovo is doing these days, but the thinkpads used to be pretty good for around that price range
